How to use Google Trends
Google is able to provide a great service with Trends because the company’s search engine is the best in the world. Yes, it might not be too great when it comes down to privacy, but it is miles ahead of the competition in more ways than one.
1] What is Google Trends?
Trends is an online tool that connects with Google Search to allow users to have knowledge of what people are searching for. Its primarily used by business and writers, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be used by anyone who just wants to.
2] Explore tab
OK, so the Explore section is quite powerful because of all the information available. From here, the user can search for any term, and then check the interest over a period of time. If that’s not enough, then how about looking at the interest from regions around the world. Additionally, folks can look at related topics, and select the ones that best links with the original search terms. Do you wish to compare search terms? Well, no problem because this feature is available for use.
3] Trending Searches
Want to see the top searches by Google Search users? Worry not, because all you need to do, is click on Trending Searches from under the hamburger menu. After clicking, the first thing persons will see, is a list of all the top search trends for the day. The daily trends are not real-time, so if that’s what you’re seeking, then select the option that says Real-Time Search Trends to see the top trends in the past 24-hours. The option is there to change the category to what fits your needs. Bear in mind that once you select one of the options from the list, the tool will show the popularity data, along with links to related articles for your reference.
4] Year in Search
Every new year, we are treated to all the top things that happened in the previous year. By using Google Trends, you can see all of this for yourself without having to rely on what the news has to say. Folks can check what is trending via their country of choice, or on a global level.
5] Subscribe to Google Trends
You can get notifications for updates on terms and topics for free by using the Subscribe feature. Go to the hamburger menu, then click on Subscription. Finally, click the plus button to create a subscription, but make sure to select terms or topics to get things going.
