Freeze and Split Panes in Excel
Freezing Pane keeps rows and columns visible while the rest of the worksheet scrolls (based on current selection).
Freeze Top Row: Keep the top row visible while scrolling through the rest of the worksheet.Freeze First Column: Keep the first column visible while scrolling through the worksheet.
Split divides the window into different panes that each scroll separately. In this article, we are going to explain:
1] How to freeze a single row and column in Excel
To freeze a single row or column, click on the View tab, click Freeze Panes, and then click Freeze Top Row or Freeze First Column. In this article, we are going to choose the Freeze Top row. Notice that when you are scrolling in the worksheet, the first row is still showing and not disappearing.

To instantaneously freeze the row and column. Select the row and the right of the column, then go to View select Freeze Panes. Click Freeze Pane. Notice when you are scrolling up, the first row is not disappearing, and when you are scrolling down, the column on the left of the row you select is not moving.

To unfreeze row and column, go on View and select Freeze Pane in the drop-down menu choose Unfreeze Pane.
