Google Docs comes with many functionalities to improve the user experience. Two of the features are the adjustment of page margin and background color. Sometimes you may need to change the background color to match it with another existing document. Or, let’s assume that you are writing something, which needs to be aligned in a predefined way. At such a moment, you can use these tips and tricks to get it done. There are mainly two ways to change the page margin in Google Docs. The first method allows users to adjust the right and left side margins, whereas the second method lets you change all four side margins at once.

How to change Page Margin in Google Docs

To change page margin in Google Docs, follow these steps-

1] Use the one-click option to change the margin

It is the easiest way to get your job done. However, the problem is that you cannot change the margin of the top and bottom. In other words, it is useful for those who want to change the right and left margin quickly. If you are one of them, you can click & hold the right/left margin icon and drag it towards the outside of your page.

It will display the change as you drag the bar.

2] Use the Page Setup tool

Page setup is a simple set of options, which will assist you in changing the margins at once. To open it, go to File > Page setup.

Now, you can change the margins under the Margins section. You can set different or same margins for different sides. Once you click the OK button, the change will reflect on your page immediately.

How to change Page Color in Google Docs

To change page color in Google Docs, follow these steps- Although it is possible to change the margin directly, you cannot do the same with the page color. For that, you have to open the Page setup. To do so, go to File > Page setup. After that, you can find an option called Page color.

Expand this option and choose a color as per your requirement. To save the change, click the OK button. Hope it helps.
