Icons and Fonts missing from a web page

This problem can occur if your Windows 11/10 is set to block Untrusted fonts or some security/mitigation options have been set. There are three ways you can address this issue.

How to block or allow Web Font downloads in Windows 11/10

1] Using Group Policy

This Group Policy setting helps you protect your company from attacks that may originate from untrusted or attacker-controlled font files. However, with the rollout of Windows 11/10 security configuration baseline, Microsoft has decided to remove the recommendation to enable the “Untrusted Font Blocking” Group Policy setting. So, one of the downsides most visible of blocking downloaded and embedded fonts is graphic icons going missing as many web sites rely on them, and blocking them can substantially diminish usability. To fix this problem, configure the Allow Font Downloads Setting on the Internet, Restricted Zone (On by default) via GPO and add the affected Web sites to the Trusted Sites or Local Intranet Zone, here: On the right-side, double-click on Allow font downloads and select Enabled. Save the settings and exit. This policy setting will affect the value of the following Registry key:

2] Using Registry Editor

This can also occur if the Untrusted Font Blocking mitigation setting is enabled. Run REGEDIT and navigate to the following key: Create a DWORD with name MitigationOptions_FontBocking* and value 1000000000000. Restart the system and see.

3] Temporarily disable Antivirus and see

If the above suggestions do not help resolve the missing icons issue in your browser on Windows 11/10 try and disable your antivirus application. Sometimes, it is also known to prevent the Fonts & Icons from displaying in the browser. Hope this helps.
