The Photos app is quite helpful in editing images, and you can open any image with the Photos app without restoring the old Windows Photo Viewer. Let’s assume that you have lots of pictures in the selected folder, and the Photos app shows all of them all the time. You might need to open some images frequently. Instead of navigating the paths, you can mark those images as Favorites so that you can open them quickly and in a much better way. When you mark an image as Favorite, a new album gets created automatically in the Photos app. Also, only images from an added folder can be marked as Favorite in the Photos app. If you open an image from any other source, the button will be grayed out. You can move your image to the existing folder, or you can add a new folder location in the Photos app.

Once you do that, it gets added to the Favorites album. As I mentioned earlier, a new album, named Favorites, gets created when you mark an image as Favorite. To view all the marked photos, you need to visit the home screen of the Photos app and switch to the Albums tab. Here you can find a new album called Favorites.
